Horace J. Inman Senior Center, located in the downtown area of Amsterdam New York, has been in operation for over 20 years. Housed in the old Inman Manufacturing Company building on Guy Park Ave, the center offers a variety of programs and activities designed to help seniors remain active, vital members of the community through exercise, recreation, socialization and friendship.
***Please remember that when the Amsterdam Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Inman Center will be closed. Have a safe and happy holiday***

FREE INCOME TAX PREPARATION PROGRAM
Tax time is almost here, and the Center offers a free tax preparation and efile program for seniors and low income individuals. Our schedule this year is Monday and Tuesday from 9 until 3, starting with the last Monday in January. No walk-ins, by appointment only. Please call 842-3815 to make an appointment. This program is free, donations are encouraged.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to enhance the lives of Senior Citizens by providing a central location for education, recreation and health and wellness activities. We do this with the cooperation of several different agencies and organizations including but not limited to the Montgomery County Office for the Aging, United Way, AARP, Department of Social Services, several Medicare Advantage insurance agencies and more.
In recent years the Center has been re-decorated, painted and the floors newly refinished. The Center has grown in both members and programs, offering a wider variety of services to reflect the changing lifestyles of today's senior citizens. With programs like Pickleball, Silver Sneakers Exercise classes, Yoga, painting and more, we are better able to meet the needs of today's senior citizen.
In addition to daily activities and special events, the Center offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. From making soup and helping out in the kitchen on lunch days, to office work and building maintenance and repair, there is always an opportunity to help out.
Donations are welcome, and can be designated for a specific purpose or for operating expenses. As a 501c3 organization, your contribution and in-kind donation are tax deductible.
Be sure to check out the links to our other pages to see our seniors in action, and find out what we have to offer. Thank you for your interest in the Inman Center.
The Inman Senior Center is a United Way of Montgomery County Agency and a proud member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
